Connie Talbot
In 2007, an aspiring singer stepped onto the soundstage of England’s enormously popular TV program Britain’s Got Talent, flashed an adorable gap-toothed smile and instantly won the heart of the notoriously crusty Simon Cowell—yes, that Simon Cowell—as well as the British viewing public. In just a couple of minutes, a true star had been born.
Over the Rainbow was released by AAO Music/Reality in 2008. The album is filled with Connie’s stirring interpretations of such classics as “I Will Always Love You,” “Imagine,” “Ben,” “My Favorite Things” and “What a Wonderful World.” The album even has a cover of Bob Marley’s “Three Little Birds,” which rose to #1 in the Billboard Hot 100 Single Sales chart.
Connie’s second release for AAO Music/Reality was a holiday album filled with classic songs and fan favorites titled Holiday Magic. Holiday Magic showcases the impressive range of Talbot’s voice. She is expectedly pleasant on standards like “It’s Beginning To Look A Lot Like Christmas” and “Frosty the Snowman,” and shows maturity on material like “Ave Maria.” Connie filmed a companion DVD for the PBS station WVIA, making Connie the youngest rtist to film a full length special for a PBS station.
